Talent und Leistungsbereitschaft sollen sich unabhängig von Herkunft und Status entfalten kön-nen und eine Gesellschaft bereichern. Das ist das zentrale Ziel des Schülerstipendienprogramms „START“. Seit 2002 fördert das von der Gemeinnützigen Hertie-Stiftung ins Leben gerufene Projekt begabte und engagierte Jugendliche mit Migrationshintergrund.

Informatik ist out: Jugendliche wollen nicht in der IT-Branche tätig sein

Laut einer Studie, die der IT-Dienstleister Computacenter gemeinsam mit dem Meinungsfor-schungsinstitut TNS Emnid durchgeführt hat, ist Informatik bei der Berufswahl von Jugendli-chen nicht einmal mehr dritte Wahl. Obwohl die IT-Branche verzweifelt nach Nachwuchs sucht und die Jugendlichen das auch wissen, kann sich nur rund ein Drittel der 750 Befragten vorstel-len, in einem IT-Beruf zu arbeiten.
