Am 20. Juni fand die Abschlussveranstaltung der Kampagne „Frauen macht Kommune“ des Bundesministeriums für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend statt. Das Ziel war es, mehr Frauen für die Kommunalpolitik zu gewinnen. Als Symbol für den Weg von Frauen in die Politik wanderte ein roter Teppich durch 21 Kommunen des Landes.
Mittelständische Unternehmen in Deutschland tun zu wenig für den Erhalt der Beschäftigungs-fähigkeit ihrer älter werdenden Belegschaften. Dies belegt eine Studie der Commerzbank mit dem Titel „Abschied vom Jugendwahn – Unternehmerische Strategien für den demografischen Wandel“. Für die Studie befragte TNS Infratest von November 2008 bis Januar 2009 über 4.000 mittelständische Unternehmer.
