‘Measuring Progress: Meeting Challenges’

The results of Opportunity Now’s study, ‘Measuring Progress: Meeting Challenges’ states that employers have recognised that Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace will help them weather the recession. Almost three-quarters of organisations (74%) found a link between internal Diversity strategies and employee engagement. Also, 40% of organisations reported improved customer service because of Diversity initiatives and almost a quarter (22%) think diversity has helped them increase their market share.
Diversity is also growing as an issue in boardrooms, with 55% of organizations making board members directly accountable for delivering gender objectives. Some 96% of business leaders claim they champion diversity.
A number of studies presented in the International Business Case Report (IBCR) states similar findings and statistics on D&I in the workplace.
