Immigrants in Greece play major role in boosting the country’s economy
According to a recent newspaper article, immigrants play a major role in boosting the Greece’s economic growth. Statistics from the Bank of Greece revealed that the migrants’ collective annual consumption exceeds 2 billion Euros which is about the same as for native Greeks. Furthermore, immigrants account for 12 percent of contributors to the country’s largest social security fund, the Social Security Foundation. This statistic relates to 223,725 migrants working legally in various sectors.
