Creative Thinking for 1,500 Pan-European Pupils and Teachers
Since January 2008, over 1,500 pupils and teachers from 24 European countries worked in intercultural, cross-border teams to create joint projects. Partnerships from Slovenia to Malta, Lithuania to Finland and Czech Republic to Luxemburg, produced stories, poems, dictionaries, films, and performances to present in a two-day programme in May held in Graz, Austria. Along with experienced professionals, pupils and teachers discussed topics such as ‘Working across the border’ and ‘Learning to Live Together’. The programme culminated in the Long Night of Intercultural Dialogue, where all participants could enjoy guided tours, workshops and discussions organised especially for them. Four museums in Graz opened their doors for ‘Creative Thinking’ and offered special tours that focused on the theme of intercultural dialogue. At the closing event in the Narodni dom in Maribor, Slovenia, experts participated in a panel discussion entitled “Living together, learning, working” that furthered the idea of cross-border cooperation.
