Corporate Diversity & Inclusion Conference, May 13-14, Chicago

Chicago on May 13-14, representatives from European Diversity Research & Consulting participated in the exploration of the current state and future of D&I in the business world. With workshops ranging from ‘Digital Tools for Diversity & Inclusion Training’ to Kraft Foods’ ‘Case-Study on Successfully Navigating Global Inclusion and Engagement Challenges’, All participants were exposed to new insights and understanding of the field of D&I. Particular attention was paid to global approaches in D&I, although only two professionals from Europe were speaking, representing Henkel and Shell.
A few such insights were, for example, learning from Amy George, Terex Corporation’s Vice President of Talent Development and D&I, on how they avoid US-centrism through a warning signs and awareness system at the session on ‘Implementing Global Diversity vs. Exporting U.S. Diversity for U.S. Based Organizations’. Also, Rohini Anand, Chief Diversity Officer at Sodexo, explained her goal to establish diverse recruitment in the way that, “people know our D&I and want to work for us without even knowing our company,” at the ‘Leading Global Diversity & Inclusion Across the Enterprise: Stakeholder Perspectives in Challenging Times’ panel discussion.
