Execution of Saddam Hussein created vivid mobile phone and DVD market in Iraq

The execution of former Iraqui leader Saddam Hussein has created a unique revenue for mobile phone dealers in Bagdad’s suburb of Sadr-City. The video footage of Saddam’s execution quickly became a money-making bestseller, local media reported. Mobile phone dealers offered the video for downloading, demanding just a few Iraqi denars (around 25 euro cents). Phone shops in Sadr City have faced an overrun of people who wanted to load the video on to their mobile phone.
